This series began as an assignment for ESPN Magazine and went on to receive a Communication Arts Photo Annual award. Even as someone who isn't a devoted baseball fan, I was immediately drawn to the scope, character, and history embedded in each object—each one a small piece of pure Americana.

Photographed using the same controlled, dramatic lighting approach developed for The FIN Project , these centered compositions invite viewers to compare form, texture, and craftsmanship across generations of the sport’s evolution.
